After waiting for a “kountdown” to reach zero, WayForward has revealed their Kickstarter project – Shantae: Half-Genie Hero.
Shantae: Half-Genie Hero marks the half genie’s first HD outing since she originally began her adventure on GameBoy Color. Her HD debut is made possible with the help of some famous names such as Matt Bozon (Contra 4 director) and Jake Kaufman (music composer of the original Shantae), along with the rest of the WayForward team.
There are plenty of stretch goals (of which some of them will be revealed over the next 30 days) and pledge rewards to choose from, including a factory sealed copy of the original game at the highest pledge level.
Instead of opting for a console stretch goal, WayForward has announced that Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is already confirmed for Wii U, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Steam.
Between today’s announcement and Keiji Inafune’s his Mega Man-esque game, Mighty No. 9 having been both revealed and fully funded, it will be interesting to see if WayForward will find the same success.
