The Chainsaw Incident slashing its way to PS4, Vita

Fighting fans looking for their Darkstalkers fix may soon get their bloodlust sated. Crossing Grindhouse with the style of Tim Burton, The Chainsaw Incident is a newly-announced 2D fighter by indie devs Origo and Crazy Piranha Entertainment.

Though information is currently at the minimum, TCI will be released for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita as a digital title. The developers have a pretty Facebook page to check out and it looks like they’ll be announcing new characters as the months go by.

The trailer features a throwdown between a possessed doll named Milda and a chainsaw-wielding maniac with the apropos name of Massacre. The combat style looks slower than what 2D fighting purists might come to expect, but it does look promising. And check out that old school, 70s lighting flicker on the start menu. Pure exploitation cinema goodness.

So what exactly is The Chainsaw Incident? Well, looks like we’ll have to wait and see. But it’s probably going to be bloody. Bloody and awesome.
