Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead to get physical release

For the last few months, Telltale Games has been absolutely killing it with their episodic point-and-click adventure series, The Walking Dead. Each episode has been ramping up to the fifth and final chapter in Lee and Clem’s undead-ridden story.

Yesterday, the company also responsible for the Sam & Max revival and Back to the Future announced that the game based on the insanely popular comic series by Robert Kirkman will get a retail release just in time for the holidays.

Set to release on Dec. 4, The Walking Dead will have a regular $29.99 release and a GameStop exclusive special edition that comes with The Walking Dead: Compendium One, which features the first 48 issues of the comic.

The special edition will set shoppers back $69.99. Considering the book itself is roughly $35 on Amazon, there really isn’t that much in this deal in terms of  savings, but such a cross-promotional move has got to be enticing to newcomers and current fans alike.
