Shovel Knight gets funded–and then some

Yacht Club Games’ homage to 8-bit games has now been funded as of 11 p.m. ET. Shovel Knight, a sidescroller featuring a pixelated knight looking to dish out some “shovel justice,” finished off its Kickstarter campaign with a whopping $311,502–more than four times over its original goal of $75,000. In the final days, they confirmed the addition of physical boxes for backers who contributed $50 and above and celebrated the last hours with a 24-hour live stream marathon.

Now with the final amount, it looks like 4-player battle mode will be included and all bosses will be playable in battle mode. In a recent update, they announced that most of the stretch goal updates will be made available as part of updates when the game is released. Shovel Knight is looking to also make its way onto Steam via Steam Greenlight.
