[RUMOR] Xbox Live points to go the way of the dodo in lieu of real money

Cue the choir. If this current rumor is true, it might be time to sing “Hallelujah,” as word is spreading that Microsoft might be dropping their Xbox Live funny money/moon bucks.

Inside Mobile Apps reports that a “source with knowledge of (Microsoft’s) decision” leaked that the changes will impact developers for Zune, Windows phones and Xbox Live. The switch to actual currency could take place by the end of the year.

The mobile site requested comment from Microsoft but got the classic “we don’t comment on rumor and speculation” line. Only time will tell on this one but considering how much sense it makes, it would be great to see this actually happen.
