Remastered Kingdom Hearts coming to PlayStation 3

Over a decade ago, fans of both Disney and the Final Fantasy series got to experience their proverbial ‘you got chocolate in my peanut butter’ moment when Square Enix released Kingdom Hearts.

Earlier today, the makers of Final Fantasy announced that a high-resolution version of the first game in the series, titled Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 3 in North America.

Slated for a fall release, the remake will reportedly be a combination of Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, formerly a Japanese exclusive, and Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories.

The title will also reportedly feature high-def cutscenes from the confusingly named Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, as well as “enhanced gameplay mechanics” and PS3 trophies.
