Shovel Knight will feature two songs from Mega Man composer

The guys over at Yacht Club Games are very excited right now. Manami Matsumae, one of the original composers behind Mega Man, is signed on to score two tracks for Shovel Knight, the upcoming side-scrolling adventure.

Matsumae had this to say about their collaboration:

“This is the first time I’m working on a Western game! It’s quite exciting! Shovel Knight and I are a good fit. So… let’s get shovelin’?”

Matsumae is responsible for the original Elec Man theme, the Cut Man theme, Nitro Man’s theme from Mega Man 10 and dozens of other retro works.

Shovel Knight has been fully funded via Kickstarter and is burning through its stretch goals. Currently, Shovel Knight sits a little under $2,000 from unlocking a New Game+ mode. If you’re uncertain what shovel justice is all about, check out our PAX East preview.
