Minecraft is making the rounds on several consoles these days. There’s no doubt that since the announcement of the PlayStation 4 version, fans of the game have been curious as to what version the port will be based on.
Responding to a fan question via Twitter, 4J Studios has confirmed that the PS4 edition of Minecraft will be the same as the Xbox 360 version and will use the same underlying game code found across all iterations of the game. Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition will be released with the Xbox 360 version’s Title Update 13 equivalent.
It’s also suspected that the PlayStation Vita and Xbox One versions will also launch with the equivalent of the Title Update 13, as 4J studios is striving to give users the same version across all platforms.
Giving players multiple entries to Minecraft seems like a great way to make the game as widely accessible as possible. Being able to play it on the go is especially alluring to me. Let’s just hope they bring in Cross-Play and Cross-Buy support.
