Mighty No. 9 funded in over 36 hours

Mighty No. 9 Beck

Well that didn’t take long.

After watching the numbers swell hours after its announcement at PAX Prime, Keiji Inafune’s pet project Mighty No. 9 met its Kickstarter goal of $900,000 in just over 36 hours.

The game, which was revaled during a panel on Saturday, was Inafune’s response to the cancellation of Mega Man Legends 3. Capcom has yet to respond to the Kickstarter campaign, which cites lofty goals such as a $2.5 million goal for console-wide distribution.

Mighty No. 9 features a black and blue machine man protagonist named Beck, who blasts his way through platforms (not unlike Inafune’s previous creations).

No doubt this Kickstarter will continue blasting through additional goals, but it looks like the battle is just beginning.

Mighty No. 9 is scheduled to release on PCs in Feb. 2015.
