Japanese magazine blows lid off of new Pokémon game and more

[Update: The North American name for Ninfia is Sylveon.]

As someone whose Pokémon knowledge ended with the original 151, the idea of there being 649 Pokémon that I absolutely have to “catch ‘em all” seems completely foreign to me.

That’s not stopping the folks at Game Freak from adding yet another to the mix. According to a recent issue of CoroCoro, a Japanese magazine, a wild new Pokémon named Ninfia has appeared.

Representing the latest evolution for the ever-adorable Eevee, this pink and white creature is set to make its first appearance in the 16th Pokemon film in Japan, titled “Extremespeed Genesect and the Reawakening of Mewtwo.” Naturally, it will also be featured in the upcoming 3DS games, Pokémon X & Y.

Five other Pokémon have previously been announced for the next Pokemon games, including two new legendaries.

Other news in the magazine reveals that Japan will get a third game in the Pokémon Rumble series of games this Spring with the downloadable title, Pokémon Scramble U.

As the name implies, it will be a Wii U game, featuring four-player multiplayer and up to 100 Pokémon on the screen at any given time.

You can check out images from the magazine after the break.
