Japan gets browser-based Final Fantasy

Square Enix Legend World

Japan residents are getting the chance to experience a new Final Fantasy experience – in their Internet browser.

Square Enix: Legend World is offered exclusively for Japanese members of the Square Enix members program. Players use their avatar through the adventure of hunting famous monsters from both Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers and Final Fantasy XII, such as Cactuars, Bombs and King Behemoth.

The game plays similarly to 3D RPGs, with gamers having the choice between simple and real view. Both views offer the same gameplay experience, but simple view is useful for those with older computers that may not be able to handle the real view graphics.

Square Enix: Legend World is currently in the closed beta stage, where invited players will receive a special gold shield as a reward. We can just hope that Square Enix: Legend World has a planned North American release so we can go out and hunt our favorite monsters as well.
