Driveclub delayed until early 2014

Earlier this week, Sony announced that Driveclub, one of the anticipated launch titles for the upcoming Playstation 4 launch, has been delayed until early 2014.

The driving title was shown off at E3 and represents a more social take on the genre. The game’s focus is on players forming “clubs” and then teaming up to complete challenges in-game. It takes advantage of all the new social features being added to the Playstation 4 and was certainly one of the more interesting games at E3.

With this delay, two of the bigger launch titles for the Playstation 4, Driveclub and Watch Dogs, have been pushed to 2014, leaving Sony with a weaker than expected lineup.

Also, Driveclub Playstation Plus Edition was to be included in the “Instant Game Collection” feature of the service at launch and will now be replaced with Contrast. However, Sony assures fans that the game will still be available to Plus subscribers upon release, whenever that may be.
