Capcom announces a new Strider at SDCC ’13

“Heroes never die, they are reborn.” In an announcement during its panel at San Diego Comic Con 2013, Capcom has revealed a new Strider for both current and next-gen consoles.

Strider is being developed by Double Helix, developer of Silent Hill HomecomingFront Mission Evolved and the upcoming new Killer Instinct.

Set in an open and interconnected 2.5D environment, Strider stars Hiryu, the youngest recruit to get a Special A-Class in the Strider training program. The up-and-coming ninja is given the mission of eliminating Grand Master Meio.

Exploration will net players with new abilities and items, with gameplay seeing a return to the franchise’s hallmark “fluid, lightning quick combat and ground-breaking free-flowing traversal.”

Strider will get released digitally in early 2014 for the Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
