Breath of Fire II, Fire Emblem headed to JP Wii U Virtual Console

It may not be the Breath of Fire Emblem that I wished for, but it’s close enough. A new listing on Nintendo’s Japanese Wii U Virtual Console page shows Super Famicom JRPG classics Breath of Fire II: The Destined Child and Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 as the next batch of games to hit the Wii U eShop.

The listing shows a release date of Wed., July 10 for both titles, with Capcom’s  Breath of Fire II costing 800 yen and Nintendo’s Fire Emblem setting eShoppers back 900 yen.

Given that Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 never appeared outside of Japan, a Western release seems doubtful. Breath of Fire II was previously released on the Wii Shop Channel in North America back in August of 2007, so its release is guaranteed here in North America.

And yes, the thought of a Miiverse community for what I consider one of the greatest SNES RPGs, nay, games of all time gives me warm and fuzzy feelings inside. Drink!
