This should definitely perk up the ears of any fan of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. At a panel held at New York Comic Con today, Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma teased some news regarding Majora’s Mask that may be found within upcoming 3DS title The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.
After discussing several details regarding the sequel to A Link to the Past and showing off live gameplay of A Link Between Worlds, Nintendo opened the discussion up to the fans via a Q&A. One fan asked about any possible news regarding a Majora’s Mask remake, to which Aonuma responded through a translator, “If you play A Link Between Worlds, you may get an answer. You might find some information.”
The news conjured up a significant response from panel attendees, who were initially taken aback by the tease. There may be more connections to older Zelda titles within A Link Between Worlds than previously thought.
It has already been confirmed by a screenshot released last week that Majora’s Mask will appear in A Link Between Worlds as an item in one of the game’s shops.
Fans have been clamoring for a 3DS remake of Majora’s Mask ever since the release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D back in 2011.
A Link Between Worlds is set to captivate 3DSes everywhere on Nov. 22, 2013. At this time, there has been no follow-up from Nintendo regarding this bit of news.
