So I Heard You Like Cosplay: This time from Calgary and Brooklyn

This past weekend both Pixelitis staffers Lowell Bell and Karen Rivera were on hand to capture cosplayers at their finest. On Saturday, Rivera checked out the Sakura Matsuri (Cherry Blossom Festival) at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, snapping pictures of lolita girls and other cosplayers amidst the greenery.

The best pictures captured some candid moments involving some impromptu choreographed dancing with Gurren Lagann characters and even some Street Fighter characters mock fighting. Look a little bit closer and you can even find one of our own staff members Tom Farndon decked out as Snow from Final Fantasy XIII.

On the other side of the continent, Bell attended the Calgary Comic Con.

Despite the fire marshall turning away several thousand people this year, the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo was the largest yet—and the second largest comic expo in Canada. Nearly 50,000 people turned up to meet the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Stan Lee, Adam West and Wil Wheaton.

The high-profile guests and sheer amount of attendees meant one thing: a ton of cosplay. With special thanks to Jordan Stallings and Richard Bell for handling photography duties, we managed to snag a ton of cosplay photos from the event, including Dara DeFretias as an amazing Demon Hunter and the entire Mighty Morphing Power Ranging Crew.
