Newest VGdrum video blasts through like an X-Buster shot

Pixelitis Managing Editor Patrick Kulikowski, aka the VGdrummer, is back with a drum cover of a fast-paced rocking tune from Capcom’s Mega Man X3.

Mega Man X3 has a very interesting musical history. The soundtrack, composed by original Castlevania composer and Video Games Live regular Kinuyo Yamashita, is very rock-inspired, to the point of one particular stage sounding a lot like a certain Guns n’ Roses song.

The PS1 re-release of the game in Europe and Japan featured a completely revamped soundtrack, where the rock-oriented SNES guitar was replaced by very smooth jazz and pop-like arrangements. This version of X3 found its way into North America on the PS2 and Gamecube’s Mega Man X Collection. Which do you prefer, the chiptune guitar or the synth?
